According to a recent report a qualification in accountancy provides an individual with one of the safest most secure careers.

A Career in Accountancy
To begin a successful career in accounting, you will need to develop a wide array of knowledge, skills and competencies ranging from a strong understanding of accounting and business concepts to effective leadership and communication skills. You will also need to have a broad business perspective, which will enable you to "see the big picture" of the internal and external factors that impact how a business operates.

There are four kinds of accountants.

Preparing for the job

Most accountants have a college degree in accounting. Public accountants have to take a special test as well. Public accountants also must have a special license from the State in which they live. Some employers want accountants who have a master's degree in business or accounting. Most employers want accountants who know quite a bit about computers.

People who want to be accountants should be good at math. They also should be able to write well, so that they can tell others about their findings.
